Taste of Downtown Upland Event Branding

Taste of Downtown Upland is an event promoting local restaurants and businesses in Historic Downtown Upland. It was a fun event to work on and I was given the opportunity to develop the event branding, printed materials, and event website.

About Taste of Downtown Upland:

Taste of Downtown Upland is an event for tasting and enjoying all of the local food that Downtown Upland has to offer.

Their Event Needs and Goals:

As the first year of this event the city had set a high bar for themselves to make this event a success. They wanted to get at least 10 vendors and sell at least half of the tickets to fill main street with customers and foot traffic.

The Solution to Their Needs:

A website to streamline ticket sales and get people excited about this new event. As well as branded print pieces to circulate interest for both vendors and attendees.

Results:

The website made it very simple for the city to direct people to the event via ads, phone calls, and social media. It put the ticket sales process on autopilot for them. This ease, video promotion, and layout resulted in getting 14 vendors for the event, exceeding their goal of 10 and the event sold out. Vendors were thrilled and their businesses were packed with customers both sampling their food items as well as buying more from them. The event was a complete success!

Branded Flyer Development

The client wanted the flyer to have a look of fresh grown food. There were various rounds of designs and the various flyers seen below were part of the last round of revisions before selecting the final look for the brand.

This was the final selection for the branded event…

Print Design

Now that the brand has been established it was time to make all of the printed materials to promote the event.

Website

The website for Taste of Downtown Upland was simple and acted as a landing page to teach people about the event as well as provide them with a link where they could purchase tickets. It was clean and simple.

The Event

During the night of the event there were people all over Historic Downtown Upland sampling all of the vendors’ food and activities. It was great being able to see everybody enjoying the food and activities. Seeing the artwork I designed in action is always so rewarding.
