Logo Design

Check out the image gallery for the logo process for AleoBlue. If you want to see more detailed information on my design process you can view the steps in the tabs below.

The client shared with me that they wanted it to be a simple text logo that will clearly be a sister logo to their original Aleo Lighting logo. With that in mind I created a logo that utilized simple text as well as iconography. I always like to provided combination logos just in case an icon stands out to the client and if it doesn't, then it's simple enough to just remove it from the final design. The iconography ideas I focused on were "bluetooth mesh" and "wireless". I showed variation in icons, colors, and text variations.

From round 1 the client still preferred no icon, which was perfectly fine. They also liked the all lower cased logos the best. From here I shared variations on font stylization. Bold, regular, italic were utilized in the these versions, as well as having a space or no space between the words "aleo" and "blue". None of the shades of blue were preferred from the previous round so we played with colors together until we found the right one. I typically like to design in black and white first, but I knew blue would be utilized for this logo so I started by showing many shades from the start so we could identify the right shade sooner rather than later to finalize the design.

From the previous round thin text for "aleo" and bold text for "blue" was the winner. From there I showed variations of color combinations with the selected blue, gray, and black.

Solid blue for the logo was the winner. The last minor tweak I wanted to try was using the standard font vs increasing the length of the "L's" and "B" in the logo to match the length of the "L" in the original Aleo logo.

I'm glad I provided one more variation because the logo with the taller letters ended up being the choice for the final logo. The client was happy and it was time to implement the new logo and color palette everywhere to promote the product!

Digital Marketing Pieces

AleoBlue Demo Box

Our reps wanted a way to showcase AleoBlue on the go during in-person meetings. So we developed the AleoBlue Demo Box to help them do exactly that. I designed the interior graphics and worked with the manufacturer to get the holes drilled perfectly to fit our mini light fixtures, sensors, nodes, remote control dimmer switch, and power source.

Once the demo box was complete we created a video for reps so they knew how to use it and convert potential customers.

AleoBlue Showroom

The demo box was then taken a step further and an immersive show room was designed to allow customers to come to the office to experience AleoBlue in-person in a live setting. The initial sketch was provided by the client and I made the room come to life with graphics, imagery, and text elements.

AleoBlue has been a massive project and it’s an ever evolving brand. The launch of the product line has helped Aleo Lighting immensely by increasing their sales numbers and brand recognition. It will continue to grow and shift with the industry by breaking standards and giving customers ease of use and flexibility in their projects while experiencing significant energy savings.
