Giordano’s Collaboration Video
About Paylocity:
Paylocity is a software company that specializes in HR & Payroll with many features within it’s app to make the employee lifecycle smooth from hire to retire.
Their Business Needs and Goals:
Paylocity was a sponsor supporting the Derrick Rose Retirement Night with the Chicago Bulls. In honor of the event Paylocity and Giordano’s came together to collaborate and celebrate with a promotional giveaway.
The Solution to Their Needs:
The Creative Team, Multimedia Team, and Copy Team collaborated to create a promotional video to promote the collaboration, the special retirement night, and giveaway in a short-form, 45 second, video that could be utilized in organic social and by sales. The goal was to utilize the partnership with the Chicago Bulls and act as a brand recognition play.

Brainstorm
For this project a copywriter and I joined up to come up with ideas to present to the CMO of Giordano’s to see if they would be interested in having a joint promotional marketing piece for the event. We came up with 13 ideas and narrowed it down to 2 to present to the CMO. She loved the presentation and chose the “Pass the ONE” concept.
Script & Storyboard
The script was created for this by the Copy Team and was handed to me to create the storyboard. I created the storyboard by using showing shots and angles to guide the Multimedia Team on how I wanted it shot. As well as provided a breakdown of the script in line with the images, all film locations including Paylocity’s office, one of Giordano’s restaurants, and the Chicago Bulls training facility, and any additional notes. The Multimedia Team said the storyboard was very clear and it was a great guide to help them get the shots we needed on-site.
Video Edit and ONE Campaign Insertion
This was another asset meant to push the ONE Campaign for Paylocity. We kept ONE highlighted through out the video through the use of a custom printed basketball as well as other elements.
Social Media Launch
This video performed well on social and built buzz around the event. We had the sales team asking for tickets to take prospects and clients to the game.

The Multimedia Team delivered another set of great shots for this video. Now it was time for me to edit the video. There were 2 separate edits I needed to build for this project: a teaser video promoting the event on social as well as an in-stadium video that would play before the live giveaway.
The video was shot vertically for social and had to be repurposed horizontally for the in-stadium execution. We took the opportunity to get more brand recognition by putting a logo lock up on either side of the video while it played. The social media video was straight forward as a teaser video. The in-stadium video needed to run straight into a live feed of the giveaway on the screen, so I built a cheesy VFX section showing the basketball ball flying from the CEO of Giordano’s to flying across Chicago into the Bull stadium. It was a lot of fun to build and was executed very well in-person.
